Still getting tremors & waiting to help

Hello Arizona, Texas, Florida and New York,

Wow - the list is getting bigger and I appreciate all those who are writing and letting me know that you like the blog! Some have already said that the pictures help so I'll be posting more later in the week.

Today was a clinic and lecture day so that takes up most of the day. Then Sheila, Huang and I went to the new market that Huang found. It is huge, clean, cold and hidden. What I mean by that is that it is this off the street and down the elevator kind of place. It takes up about a quarter of a city block and has the best a/c in the city. They had so many kinds of coffee and that it took me a while to figure out which one I wanted (plus the fact that it was in Chinese).

The potato chip bags were very interesting. I will write out some of the tastes that they come in because I can't remember now. Something like Tomato, Italian Red Meat, some kind of vinegar and apple...

They meat and seafood selection was like something that I have actually never seen before. I did recognize the duck and buffalo meat but the whole chicken (including the head) was unique, some kind of little octopus (calamari pieces?), and many items that I'll have to have translated for me. I'm going back at the end of the week with my camera and notepaper.

We were back on the 3rd level out patient but with a new doctor, a woman who was very patient with us and all of our questions. We saw many patients and we are amazed that she and her 2 interns can get so much done. We wrote lots of notes and took pictures this time. They use many needles and the patterns are very symmetrical and well done. They really use the meridians and the antique points.

I was asked to put together a little resume of my work at the hospitals (Maricopa Medical Center and Phoenix Baptist), my grief and bereavement work and my teaching experience. Angel's going to give it to the "higher ups" in the hope that I'll soon be able to help with some peer grief counseling for the children. Angel said that if "I'm approved" that she'll be my translator. She's been wanting to get to the disaster area too. So, I'm still waiting.

Also, we're having a little tremor sometime everyday. Sheila felt one yesterday afternoon and registered the info on the USGS website. That was pretty cool.

Tomorrow we have clinic but no afternoon lecture. We were supposed to go on a university sponsored field trip to the Cultural Herb Market but it was moved to next week. So, the 3 of us and 2 others from the university are going to head out and go to the Cultural Herb market tomorrow afternoon, just like the Americans that we are. Dang individualists!

Well, I had more Sichuan food at lunch and more orange soda. I try not to eat anything "red" but things kind of sneak instead of the bland food and then the stream fogs us my glasses.

Well - that's all for today. See y'all tomorrow.

Love, PEace and Joy,

Tang Li Xin!
