English TV and T-shirts on the Street

Good morning,

I have a few minutes before clinic this morning and thought I'd write about English TV and what the street vendor experience is like.

When we got here we had kind of an old tv in the room. On the third day we came back from clinic to find that all of our tvs were replaced with new digital ones wow - that was kind of cool.

We found about 52 channels and there is one in English. It is CCTV Channel 9. They have a very interesting schedule and only about 9 commercials for Chinese tourism they they play over and over. I think that I them memorized. If they only did this with Acupuncture Theory and Point Energetics, I'd be good to go!

There are news reports from the earthquake, Cultural Express, Sports, Travelogue and some cultural dialogues. They will replay a story several times for a couple of days and then add new ones into the mix.

I find the small shops to be very enterprising and am amazed at what they can fit into such a small shopping area. I'll take some pictures of them this afternoon. They sell newspapers and t-shirts on the street and have bakeries, dress shops, small restaurants, etc in these 12 by 12 boxes right off the street.

Anyway, I thought I got a picture of a store but only found this:

I have to go to clinic now but will finish this entry later this afternoon.

By the way, we had lots of small tremors all night.

Peace
