This is another rainy, wet Saturday morning for us here in Chengdu. It was hot and humid yesterday with no afternoon lecture.
We decided that we should go to the Herbal Market. We took the #11 bus to the Railway station. Had lunch at the Islamic restaurant and then took a taxi to the Herbal Market. The only problem was that the location on the map wasn't the same as where the actual market was.
We had quite an adventure and finally found it. We had to ask many rickshaw drivers and street workers. The cabbie called his office and our interpreter called the International Office. It was the street workers that finally got us there.
Chinese medicine uses some unusual products and I know if I show you these pictures that some of you may never have Chinese Herbs again or at all.
==

A general "feel" for how HUGE this market really is.
==

This is bag o'snakes. This is a special variety that clears serious wind and tremors.
==

This is a bag o' scorpions. They help a lot with tremors, tics, and wind.
==

These are sticks of Geckos. They are also an ingedient in Chinese herbs.
Hmm - good stuff, eh?
Peace,
Donna
